I’m Claudia Castillo-Ayala
I am a dedicated scientific illustrator freelancer and graphic designer with a Master’s in Conservation Biology from the University of Alberta. Originally from Colombia, I’ve always been inspired by nature’s beauty and the vibrant colors of the tropics. My journey began as a biologist, researching primates and bat ecology in the Colombian Amazon. Working closely with Indigenous communities gave me a deeper connection to nature and a profound respect for the ways we are all tied to the environment around us.
Passionate about making science accessible, I blend my scientific expertise with artistic creativity to craft clear and captivating visuals. With experience in scientific illustration, infographics, and children’s illustration, I specialize in transforming complex ideas into engaging visual concepts.
